I bootstrapped a business nights/weekends for a couple of years (while working FT) before and shortly after my son was born. tl;dr — it was super tough to balance it all. It also gave me a kick in the pants to jump into my own biz.

I would strongly encourage anyone who’s thinking about kids to pair back the extraneous projects. Kids are a lot of work..and more deserving of our undivided attention. The reward is worth the work.
